Kindergarten Cares

The video below shows the kindergarten students during our all school assembly where we introduced our character trait of the month - "Caring".

Students will earn Birch Meadow Bears this month if they are observed showing caring qualities at Birch Meadow. Parents are encouraged to look for their children being caring at home and reward them with a bear. More bears will be sent home – be sure to write your child’s name and room number and the reason for the reward on the bear and return it to the office. We will display them in the lobby during Caring month.

Principal for the Day - Michael R.

Michael's parents won the principal for the day auction at the adult social this year. This provided Michael the opportunity to be the principal of Birch Meadow. Michael did a great job as principal! He wrote a friendly memo to teachers, ate lunch in the office with friends, visited classrooms, and made a school rule: extra recess for everyone. It was a great day!

Message from the superintendent

This is Superintendent John Doherty with the first update on how the School Department will be addressing the Boil Water Order that has been issued by the MWRA. School will be in session for tomorrow, May 3rd. The scheduled lunch menu for tomorrow will be served with some minor changes. We will have a limited supply of bottled water available for our students, so we ask that students bring bottled water or water bottles with sanitized water with them to school each day while the boil water order is in effect. All water bubblers and bathroom sinks in each school will be turned off. Hand sanitizer will be available in each bathroom for students to use.

We will continue to update you through Connect Ed and Edline. In addition, please go to the Town of Reading website for community information.

Thank you.
